Critical thinking and media and digital literacy.

Critical thinking plays a fundamental role in media and digital literacy, as it enables us to analyze and discern the information we receive through all media. In a world saturated with data and news, it is essential to be able to evaluate the accuracy and credibility of sources, as it encourages us to make informed decisions and promotes responsible consumption of information. By questioning and analyzing what is presented, it not only makes us smarter, more informed consumers, capable of discerning between truthful information and misinformation, but it also empowers us to actively participate in society. In this way, critical thinking not only enriches media literacy but also strengthens democracy, freedom of expression, information, and the press, and, ultimately, dialogue in our communities; pillars of a democratic society.

Crime and Punishment

Justice in our country is very slow and unreliable due to a lack of independence, honorability, and transparency. A murderer has less than a 5% chance of being convicted, and a corrupt person has less than a 3% chance of even being investigated. The existence of a good judicial system is essential to laying the foundations for a developed and civilized country, capable of upholding citizens' rights and punishing individuals and officials who violate the law.

Conclusion

Let us hope that in the not-too-distant future, an administration will come to power in this country that will put critical thinking and media literacy into practice, that will pay attention to these judicial and penitentiary issues, and that will act with political, economic, and social impartiality, so that real changes and reforms can be made, not only in anti-corruption and prison laws or statutes, but also in the minds of those who make and execute them, so that impunity ceases to reign and those who violate them receive exemplary punishment at the expense of the state, but at the same time can enjoy due process and a program of rehabilitation and reintegration into civilian life.
